Brigid, one of our fantastic lenders on Gecko, had exactly the same problem with her 1-meter paella pan with a gas burner

People didn’t know how to use Brigid’s gas burner!

Brigid found many people renting her item were having trouble starting up the 1-meter gas burner. When dealing with gas, it is very important to stay safe and to properly know how to start and manage it to prevent any hazards.

To address this issue, Brigid found an amazing solution, so we decided to share her tips with you too and help you boost your customers!

What was Brigid’s Solution?

Brigid decided she would include an envelope attached to her items with instructions on how to use the gas burner, and also delicious recipes to cook with the pan. Brigid placed herself in her customers' shoes, which is very important and questioned how to create a safe and enjoyable experience with her items.

She was able to provide that personal touch through her envelope as a lender, creating a positive relationship and trust with her borrowers.

In doing so, the number of people borrowing her items increased as they enjoyed her recipes and also trusted her as a lender.

They felt the care Brigid had for them and also the extra mile that she went to ensure that her borrowers were able to use the pan and create amazing meals safely.

So … What You Can Do!

Are you experiencing the same issue as Brigid? Find ways to show your care for the borrowers and also your items to create that important trust and bond!

If you have an item that is hard to use or might be confusing for first-time users, create an easy guide or manual with steps!

For example, you might have a guide on how to properly plug your speakers or even DJ Decks!

This would make sure that the borrower is maximising the use of their item, and would also ensure they are taking the best care for your item!

You can also provide tips and tricks on how to use those items. For example, you can include what cool settings there are for your camera, or angles and tricks you use yourself!

If you are lending out an item that can be used for cooking like Brigid’s pan, or a dumpling steamers or BBQ grills, why don’t you include delicious recipes you have enjoyed!

This would create such a unique experience for the borrowers, and in return definitely would recommend those items to their friends and families.

Putting in that extra mile definitely makes a difference as it did for Brigid, and we love for you to have that same experience.
